So here I am. Behind a camera instead of a pharmacy counter — which, for those who know me at all, is already a personal achievement for an introvert.
As a pharmacist, I have been about Prevagen constantly throughout the years. It has been from patients and people trying to take care of themselves or their loved ones. And for a long time, I have painfully observed many of them trying to decide between spending money on prescriptions or on Prevagen.
This time, I decided to speak up.
I put together this video to walk you through what the evidence actually shows, so you can make your own informed decision.
I have included the sources for those interested in following up. For now, the video is below. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for posting this about Prevagen. I had no idea, and y mother uses this all the time. It’s also quite expensive. I’m sure there are better ways to help her.
Thank you for sharing – I hear this a lot, including from my parents several years back. The marketing was quite aggressive from the start, and it led me to believe it was too good to be true, so I needed to dig deeper.
You are absolutely right to question it, especially given the cost.
What does your mom think about it? Has she had a chance to talk to her doctor?
I’ll be writing more about brain health and what the evidence actually supports. It is a topic close to my heart.
