This blog is dedicated to my fearless mother and all the women who navigated menopause without the support they deserved. As a healthcare professional, I once believed that I had a thorough understanding of the complexities of this transition, but my own experience revealed a deeper truth, shifting my perspective.
This blog shares the insights I’ve learned, along with evidence-based knowledge, inviting you to join the conversation and create a compassionate space for open dialogue. I want to offer the kind of support, understanding, and information that I now realize was often missing when countless others went through this.
My mission is to empower women by bridging the gap between professional knowledge and personal experience. I aim to increase awareness of overlooked symptoms and address information barriers, such as the impact on cognitive ability, mental health, and the complexities of hormone replacement therapy.
My professionalism is based on both personal experience and a background in social care, sciences, and pharmacy. I’ve been a practicing pharmacist for over 15 years, and my BTEC National Diploma in Social Care, combined with practical experience in home and institutional health settings and community pharmacy, has given me a deep understanding of the emotional, physical, and social challenges people face.
Today, three out of four women with menopausal symptoms in the United States do not receive any prescription or over-the-counter treatment for any of those symptoms. Most do not even speak to their physician. This number is likely higher in other countries, underscoring the urgency to provide better care and resources for women at this stage in their lives.
